How Dumb Am I?

Well, am I dumb or what? I'm sitting here posting my "What Is It?" challenge on my other websites and I'm thinking, why didn't I just put this idea for a post on my regular blog instead of creating a blog just for the challenge. I must have been having a "senior moment" the other day or something. Anyway I am up to "What Is It #5" and I hope Paula will be happy that the challenge is back on. Here goes.....

This one should be easier than the last one. What do you think it is?

The Lost Valentine

I hope everyone had the chance to watch this beautiful movie last night on The Hallmark Hall Of Fame. It was such a touching and inspirational story. I have always loved Betty White and she was fantastic in this role. I'm a big fan of The Ghost Whisperer and Jennifer Love Hewett was so beautiful and played her part so well.
Betty's character really taught people how to never give up. If you missed it, I hope that you will catch it another time.

That's OK

Hope I did not offend anyone when I blogged about removing my "What Is It?" blog. I just wanted anyone who might be looking for it to know that it no longer existed. When I said "only one of my 'devoted' followers" was guessing every day, I used the word "devoted" jokingly. I have a "warped" sense of humor. Anyway, I gave it a good try and it didn't work, but that's OK. I still have my other 3 blogs and they are doing well. Hope everyone has a good week coming up.

Hugs.

Deleted "What Is It?" Blog

I deleted my "What Is It?" blog where I was posting a photo and was asking people to guess what it was. The first thing I posted got about 4 responses, but after that, only one of my "devoted" followers was guessing. I thank you for that Paula. Anyway, since it didn't seem to bring much interest, I decided to delete the blog. Sorry Paula.

Feeling A Little Sickly Today

I was supposed to go for a hike today with my friend Linda. We had planned a hike last Thursday and had to cancel because I had to take Ben to the doctor, so we rescheduled for today, but when I got out of bed this morning, I felt like crap. I called her and had to cancel again. Hopefully we will be able to get together next week and go to Towsley Narrows for a hike.
I've been doing nothing but vegging on the sofa and watching TV. Hopefully I'll feel better later.
It appears that only one of my blog friends has been guessing what the photos are on my "What Is It" blog. I was hoping more people would join in on the fun. I guess if I don't get more followers, I'll close that blog down.
It's sunny here in SoCal this morning. The wind was blowing hard all night, but seems to have died down some now. Sure wish I had been able to go on that hike. Oh well, there's always another day.

My Morning Walk

Today I wanted to try to find somewhere in the Santa Clarita Valley that I had never walked before. I drove over to an area knows as Northbridge Park in the middle of Valencia, CA. The park is surrounded by houses, but there is a walking path in the area that gives the feeling that you are out in the woods. I thought it was such a pretty place. I took a few photographs of the area.

This Day In History - January 17, 1994

Today is my birthday. On this EXACT date (Monday, January 17, 1994) I received a very "unwanted" birthday gift from Mother Nature. Here is what happened on that date:

Morning Walk Along San Francisquito Creek Trail

This morning I took a 2.5 mile walk along the San Francisquito Creek Trail in Valencia, CA. The trail runs right along the San Francisquito Creek were in May of 1928, approximately 450 people, while asleep in their beds, were killed when the Saint Francis Dam failed and 12 Billion gallons of water roared down the canyon...a 125 foot high wall of water that washed over towns, farms, home and humans until it found it's way to the Pacific Ocean 50 miles downstream.

The damn before the failure

The dam as it starts to leak

After the failure

Today as I walked along the trail next to the creek, it's hard to envision how it must have been that awful night. The creek bed is almost dry, except for the small trickle of water from the last rainstorm we had. Today the sky was blue and clear and the birds were singing.

More Snow

The snow had stopped for awhile then it started up again and actually started sticking. They say we may have it all night. I'll be out with my camera tomorrow for sure.

We Got Some Snow In SoCal!

Snowed for about 30 to 45 minutes. Didn't stick though (darn).
