What A Day

I went for a hike this morning since Ben had to work. When I got home, I fixed my lunch and settled down at about 11:30 to watch TV. All of a sudden the cable goes TV and no Internet. I called Time Warner and they said they did have an outage here, but no idea of how long it would be off. It came back on about 45 minutes later.

At 4:45 the power went off! I called our guard shack and they said the electrical guys turned it off to fix a problem. Come to find out, all of the people across the street from us had lost power at 9:00 am. Anyway, our power was off for 3 1/2 hours and wouldn't you know it was the hottest day of the year so far...94 degrees, so we could not run our fans or anything.

Our power came back on, but the people on the other side of the street still do not have power and the street lights still are not on. It sure is dark out there.

  1. Amazing how much we rely on electricity.

We live in a community of no street lights. Lovely to have it "dark out there" all of the time save the moon, the stars and possibly the neighbour's porch light.

I appreciate your comments. Thanks for stopping by.
