My Boring Day

My back was still killing me when I got up this morning. I feel sorry for Hiker because she knows “mama” is not acting “normal”. She knows there is something wrong with me and she doesn't know what to do. We are not doing our “regular routine” so she seems confused. She keeps coming over to sit or lie down beside me and she just looks at me with sad brown eyes. I called Kaiser this morning to reschedule my appointment with my Retinal Specialist. Jean was going to take me to that appointment tomorrow morning, but I felt I would not be able to make it due to having to walk a lot. What makes me mad is that Jean and I were going to have lunch and go shopping after the appointment and I was looking forward to that. If I feel better by Saturday, she and I are going to a craft fair here in Santa Clarita and then I guess we can go to lunch and out shopping. I've tried alternating heat and cold treatments on my back. Don't know if it is helping or not. I've been told to lie on the floor and put my legs up on the couch as if I were sitting in a chair, which I did and it seemed to help a little. I think it's just one of those things that has to run the course. Jean offered to take Hiker out for a walk, but I told her I think Hiker can do without a walk for a day or two. She can go out into the yard and run around with her toys. After lying on the floor with my legs up on the couch for about 2 hours, I couldn't stand being in that position anymore. Had to sit up for awhile. My back still hurts, but doesn't seem as intense as it was this morning. Would you believe we hit 90° here today? What's up with that?

Hiker stayed right next to me while I was lying on the floor with my feet up.

  2. I love Hiker's name. It's funny how animals know when their owners aren't feeling well. I hope your back gets better soon.
